      Wotan Zement GmbH & Co. KG is investing in a modern, state-of-the-art facility for receiving and storing cement clinker. Many well-known companies from the cement industry are involved in the project. It is also important for Wotan Zement GmbH & Co KG that a number of companies and reliable partners from the region are also involved.<\/p>\n

      Kottmann GmbH was commissioned as general planner for the structural and plant design. Initially, variant studies were carried out for various possible solutions under different parameters in order to integrate the new building into the existing process in the best possible way.<\/p>\n

      A solution with two clinker silos was ultimately implemented, which are filled via two tipping bunkers for truck unloading and a bucket elevator. The removal of the clinker from the silos partially utilises the same conveying routes as the feed and is integrated into the existing operation. Initially, the planning was carried out up to the design phase and the preparation of the documents for the building application. Due to a delay in the approval process caused by the flood of the century in the nearby Ahr valley, the project was not continued with the implementation planning until two years later. Particularly notable is the realisation of the project on a construction area bordered by the existing rock quarry site.
